Resume/CV

Your resume (or in US university settings, your CV) is one of the most important documents in your life. The quality of your resume can determine whether you will be selected for an interview and perhaps for a new job or career. It is very important that your resume has excellent content showcasing your experience and skills in a way that is attractive to employers. I can work with you to strategically boost your resume, both in content and formatting.

During the process, I perform a detailed offline first “round” of review, analysis, and question mark-up of your resume. If appropriate, I will also reformat your resume to make it look very professional and eye-catching, so that it is more memorable at a glance to recruiters and employers.

Then you and I can collaborate during some online sessions so that I can ask you key questions to unearth information about your work experience and abilities that you may not have initially realized would be great to add to your resume.

I can also help you adapt the wording in your resume to both reflect your professional background and align with the language of the job postings that you are interested in pursuing. This will help your resume succeed in being identified by automated systems often used by major employers for initial screening of resumes, and help you succeed in being identified as a good candidate to be interviewed when your resume is evaluated by human eyes.

Curriculum vitae (CV)
If you are a PhD student or researcher at a university, I can proofread your CV and assist in general formatting so that it looks polished and professional. If you are applying for faculty positions, I can also help you prepare and/or edit additional, commonly requested application documents such as:
- Research Statements
- Teaching Statements
- Diversity Statements
- Presentation slides for mock class lectures

If you succeed in getting an interview during your job application process, I can also help you prepare for your interview. Learn more…
